Does anyone running WinUAE Using Windows 7 ULTIMATE experience any compatibility problems?
I am especially where hardfiles are concerned.

probably best to ask the author if you think its a WinUAE bug?

Winuae was not designed with w7 in mind, and w7 is not even complete/finished, so don't expect much help from the author.
What are you looking at?

W7 Has been finished for some time now you just need to know where to look.  :-X

Retail release date is October 22, 2009 so expecting it to already be 100% supported on a freeware emulator might be expecting a bit much, dont you think?

*bump*

In case anyone still has any concerns, the latest version of WinUAE (2.1.0) has no problems with Windows 7 (any edition), 32-bit or 64-bit.
The standard 32-bit build is recommended for both, there is an experimental 64-bit build but due to technical reasons this has no JIT support (only the slower interpreter).

I can also confirm WinUAE runs AMOS Professional 2.0 + Compiler very well even on a cheap Windows 7 netbook with Intel Atom 1.6GHz, although if you want 68040/68060-level performance a faster PC is needed.

WinFellow on the other hand is a mighty bugfest on 7. It hasn't been updated in 5 years, although the source is available to build your own version.

Hi,

Amiga Forever is not actually an emulator, it's a commercial package and frontend which utilises the freeware WinUAE emulator (and may still use WinFellow too which is also freeware).

For better performance, you can also use the native Mac OS X version of E-UAE, which should also work with the Kickstart ROMs included with Amiga Forever. (You'll need to select the appropriate ROM key file too, as the Amiga Forever Kickstarts are encrypted).

This may well run all 3 versions of AMOS better than by using WinUAE under VMware Fusion on OS X, a method which essentially runs 3 operating systems on top of each other...

Hello!
I tried MaxUAE. It runs AMOS like hell...but my feeling is that the 'Windowised' AMOS (the VMware one) runs a bit faster...Plus I'm used to the configuration on Win and I'm always at war with the mousecursor on the Mac which, after going to far to the edges of the screen, changes back to the Mac-cursor.
Overall I'm just happy I can run Amiga on every platform, computer, os ;-)
Greets!
