Dear Friends:

I read the book 'game maker's manual' a long time ago. A quote caught my attention (but I forgot the exact words). It said something like 'the amiga is a very powerful system to produce role-playing games (using amos of course). I really liked that.
cheers!!!

RPG....

Dungeon Master style or Zelda style?

only one of them matters to me ;)

im sure the Ultimate Amos book says something similar :D
Quote from: KillerGorillabecause winuae is made of code and your amiga is made of stuff

I've heard Zelda is not an RPG since it is missing some vital parts that it would need to be a 'proper' rpg. Since the term came from the table top rpg's like Dungeons and Dragons, I would have to agree.
What are you looking at?

Hi! I'm new here.. I purchased amos the creator package years ago. I have been using my Amigas mainly for gaming, but have always been somewhat thrilled of the idea of making my own game someday. However, I have very little programming experience. I think altough old, Amos still is capable package. Well, Im somewhat into roleplaying, too.. I just finished Ambermoon on the Amiga, and thought it was great. -Well, would it be possible to make a similar kind of rpg using mainly  Amos ? :-D

Hello and welcome to the Amos Factory.  This is a great place to learn about programming in Amos.

Making a role-playing game in Amos is a definite possibility especially if it's not got realtime combat.  Even if it does, you'll do alright with Amos.  I'd suggest downloading AmosPro from the archives here though since it has a lot of features and extensions that won't work on Amos the Creator.  Although they are in .ADF format you can use ADF Blitzer to unpack them to floppies on your Amiga.

If you need more advice, feel free to start a new thread.  And welcome again.

Thanks for advice!
Maybe I'll learn to really do SOMETHING with Amos eventually..even if I'm not a coder per se... -who knows ?    ;D
This kind of forum is a great thing, indeed!
