Hi! i wonder where to buy AMOS? Or is it free? I know i can download the source code of AMOS but how do i make it to run?
I sold my Amiga and all programs for long time ago but i have left all my disks with my amos-games. I regret that i sold it. :-(
I live in Sweden.

You can download .adf disk images of AmosPro and the updates all the way up to version 2.0 (which includes the compiler) from Back to the Roots but if you want a manual to go with it you'll need to buy it from Software Hut here in the U.S.

This seems to be the new download site for Amos since the Back to the Roots website has gone offline.  I hope some of you find it useful.  The disks are saved in .rar format so you'll need to be able to decrunch that format.

Note that the word THIS in the previous post is a link.  Maybe you could change the color of links in this board so they would be more visible, Sidewinder.

Sidewinder

Hopefully this new red color will be more useful for links.  Thanks SamuraiCrow.

Virus Alert! Saddam Virus on disk 6 of the AMOS Pro archive and probably on disk 1 also. Is that a nasty or nuisance virus?

SamuraiCrow

I don't know.  I downloaded mine from Back2Roots.org before they went bust.  I still have the disk images from there.  I don't know whether I should post them in the download area here or not.  Maybe Sidewinder will have a suggestion.  :-(

Well, there may or may not be a virus on disk one. I copied the disks to my pda under PalmUAE and checked them with VirusX 4.0. It did report an abnormal boot block and I went ahead and repaired it. When I tried to install AMOS from that disk, it refused to install complaining that the disk was a copy. I was able to install on the actual Amiga and I didn't get any indication of a virus from disk one like I did from disk six on my Amiga, so I'm not sure. Use caution with these disks. From now on I'm going to test stuff before going to my Amiga. BTW, from what I can tell, the Saddam virus will destroy disks.

Sidewinder

Take another look at the downloads section.

Thanks for uploading the files to the download section, Sidewinder!

Thanks! I'll try these as soon as I'm sure I've eradicated my virii. I suspect some other things I've downloaded had been infected also. Being new to Amiga, I didn't realize that virii were such a problem, so I was not as careful as I should've/could've been! I bought my workbench disks, used of course; and I'm pretty sure the write-protect tab was set, but I don't know for sure. I suspect all of my other disks and am currently trying to get as up to date an anti-virus program transferred over to try and dis-infect everything else. It's a shame that Amiga Explorer doesn't have some way to check the files, if that's even possible.

Is the Back to the Roots site down? I keep receiving messages stating that I need to wait.

I have the complete professional version, on diskettes, but I am looking for the ADF for my emmulated Amiga!

Is there anyone out there that has the ADF for Amos Professional?

I have legally purchased the program, but I am looking for the ADF for my Windows XP machine.

Thanks,
