E-UAE is an Amiga emulator for Mac and Hi-Toro is a great front-end for E-UAE, making Amiga emulation easier than ever.

apparently experimental, but i've been running it fine for ages now.

Hmmm... Never heard of this one... If the datestamp on this is correct it's quite old.

Got any page with any description from the creator?

Hungry Horace

well the last WIP version of e-uae -is- old, (27th March 2007) and as i say, i have been running it for at least 6 months now.

i got it from EAB, where i think maybe it was sourced from amiga.org or something? i think it was hinted at being from http://e-uae.de.vu/ or its author originally, but i cant be sure.

having used the universal build, i can tell you it operates exactly the same functionality-wise.

Intel build with CAPS/IPF support, and working Cartridge ROM support. (tested as working by myself)

That server is slower than Contiki on a C64.

grasstust

Hmm... This is good.
I got it up and running and IPF files are now working,
but the emulator runs VEEEERY slowly...

Anyone else tried it?

sorry, but no it doesnt. It's as fast, if not faster than previous versions, and those were more than acceptable - and i only have the 2.2 MacBook, and i'm emulating full 020 and AGA without even using JIT. are you forgetting to use OpenGL rendering or something?

What do you mean sorry, no it doesn't. If I say it runs slow here, the chances are it actually runs slow here, you schmuck! ;) Anyway, I think I got it worked out, did some magic and wow - it's what we have been waiting for!

Ruliovega

I haven't noticed much speed difference but now openGL acceleration is working fine in Vsync on my second screen.
running it on a Macbook Pro

This version is to me a BIG step forward. It fixes the joystick problems mentioned elsewhere, it runs fast (Pinball Illusions perfectly! :)) and it supports the .ipf format which was long overdue. Also keyboard input can now be controlled with Hi-Toro. Bring on Amiga Gamebase for OS X, please!

you said 'it runs slow' not 'it runs slow on my machine' .... so (as follow up posts, including your own, have shown) you're statement was factually incorrect!

sorry if you think i'm being pedantic, but i see this sort of broad-sweeping inaccuracy a lot through my dealings with the PSP/Amiga scene and it does bug me.

Anyway, Hi-Toro has now been updated to 0.5.2 as well.  ;D

Alright, peace! :) Anyway, if you read the readme in the Hi-Toro archive you'll see what's new. The spotlight search is a big thing methinks!

MagerValp

Nice!

Unfortunately the only thing I use UAE for is file transfer, and there's no way of mounting a genuine Amiga drive in E-UAE, is there?

Naquaada

Does anyone know the program http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/ ? It's a neat tool with which you can define keyboard or other events to a specified input device. It allows very complex operations, including logic, math and timer functions. I made for my system a layout that I could use the Joystick (Competition Pro USB) for inserting disks, switching fullscreen/window mode and more.

I didn't experiment too much with E-UAE, has it full AGA support? I'd like to run Worms Directors Cut on my Mac.
