Just to let you all know, im still about, just busy finishing off things I have left to do. Once thats done, ill up a new release.
It wont be anything spectacular, just a fix to gain the speed we lost in last release. This should bring us up to the speed of 0.70B, which is the fastest version (although a BETA) todate.

FOL - why bother rushing out another one? last time it meant things went wrong and .70 and .71 were only about two weeks apart!

there are some minor features we've discussed before which i'm sure you could add! take your time. it is allowed ;)

yes - 0.70B is a better performing release than 0.71.

I noticed the difference quite quickly, nothing amazing, just slightly more speed with certain games, mainly alien syndrome and 1943, arkanoid II. Enough to make me stick with your 0.70b.

I also like setting sound to stereo, its much louder than 4ch. (not unique to 0.70b, I know)

I'm sure users will welcome any update, no matter what you choose, although I'd recommend using 0.70B as your starting  template.

I also like the 0.70B intro video and music best  :)

Nice to see your returning, take it easy though, All in your own time Boss  ;)

I could use 0.70B as a starting point, but it would mean alot of work adding stuff that 0.71 has. Will have to see, what I can do with 0.71 source.

Good luck Fol! ...as always all your work is much appreciated!  ;D

Is Chilly Willy still working on a version too or has he dropped the idea of working on another version of pspuae? We've not heard anything from him for quite a while?

He is still working on it. Its just taking time, as he has alot of other projects and work to balance.

Lots of coders are the same, to many fingers in to many pies! All they end up with is sticky fingers.

They spread themselves to thinly over to many different projects, then never really achieve ONE outstanding result, instead they achieve numerous mediocre results, which leads to frustration and disapointment.

ZX81's emu's are a perfect example, lots of different emu's but all bobbins! he releases one every week on Qjnet! ......WTF.

Generally, when one good coder works on one project, long and hard, We end up with a good result - FOL with PSPUAE is a perfect example  :o

We have Mr FOL and chilly working on PSPUAE so I'm hoping we can pin them down to one challenge and one outstanding result.

Failing that - we will offer them heaps of cash and an endless supply of naughty ladies  ???

Dunno about that.  His PSPCap Amstrad CPC emulator is one of my most used homebrew programs.
Fave Amiga games include - Switchblade, Uridium 2, Superfrog, Alien Breed, Hired Guns, Chaos Engine, Silkworm, Ruff N' Tumble,Turrican II, Parasol Stars, The Settlers, Populous, Lotus 2, Cannon Fodder, No Second Prize, Trex Warrior, Project X, Battle Squadron, First Samurai, Speedball 2 and more...

I've only used the Atari 800XL ones, I really wanted to say I liked it, but I'd be telling porkies, it's pretty bad.

I nearly pooood myself when i landed my ship and was waiting for one of my rescued pilots to board my landed ship, when suddenly a greed alien tried smashing through my ships windscreen!

i have to agree with delta on this one, ZX-81's emulators are seriously lacking.

he uses a generic frontend/gui, which would be fair enough it it actually looked quite nice and/or was well developed... but it isnt!

He also simply ports others emulators from multi-platform code and puts that front-end on it. There's nothing wrong with that as such, (it still takes a certian skill to port even the most port-able code) but he should spend more time tailoring each emulator specificly for the PSP, with optimisations and suitable additional functionality.

The Amstrad CPC emulator is a perfect example, becuase if you followed the version history, you'll see he had to go back to an older version of the source emulator to get more speed. I'm sorry, but that just shouldnt happen with an 8-bit emulator on the PSP... the thing has enough CPU power!
