Do you think it's possible for a titus the fox R.I.S.S., the game runs beautifully however the loading times are a pain.
Couldn't you load up the game, then save the state yourself? Thats what I did with SWOS once my career was going (it didn't like starting a career from the savestate downloaded from this site for some reason).

If you save state from an adf, then you need both the adf file and the savestate on your MS, plus the loader loading times cause your using the floppy. A R.I.S.S. will give you 1 file (and a config), with no need for adf anymore and the loading is faster.

Did you have CPU CYCLE EXACT set to on in the CHIPSET menu, as this is a know problem, SWOS needs this turned on or it crashes when using career mode.

Dunno- I tried it my way, and it worked!

i will be making a new SWOS save-state anyway probably, hopefully finally laying this problem to rest.

however, atm i have other new states to concentrate on!

I dont think Lionheart will be very playable, but I shall do it if no-one is on it.

Project X (CD32) and Assassin are already done and in download section

Thought I would point this out, when you load the states, if its using chipset speed, check it, as it might default to 31% if its a 0.62 state. Up it to 85% and then see how it goes, if not just adjust it some more either way.

Also, you might have to adjust the FS, as it might run to slow or fast, use atuo FS.

what gives the best performance usually?  ... 85 or 93?  ...  isnt higher better in this case?

Hungry Horace

depends on the game - some stuff hates it being put that high!

Thank you FOL :D Sorry if I posted about it also on the Shoutbox  ;D

If its an AmiDOS loading game, then you dont need WHDLoad to run it, WHDLoad just makes it easier.

especially if the game has a codewheel/manual copy protection etc... as i dont trust the cracked versions to be bug-free!

It only has a manual copy protection after a while that you have started a new game.

I hope Wikipedia refers to the 4 floppy version ;D

I haven't never personally tried HD version. I think I will get a look at it with WinUAE :P

Hungry Horace

if it has manual protection at -any- point, i would recommend the whdload installer is used rather than a cracked copy myself... but since FOL will be making it, and not me... its his choice!

Yeah, but... There's no WHDLoader installer on WHDLoad support site :P

So, I'm even thinking of doing the R.I.S.S. myself (not so much problem, after reading your guide, Horace :) ) but now I have a doubt...

If there's not WHDLoader installer, can I make something like this?

1) Install the HD version of the game in WinUAE in an emulated HD
2) Follow the standard procedure, but this time, I lha the HD files
3) Create a startup-sequence on the first ADF where it extracts all in RAM
4) Always using the startup-sequence, try to start-up the game like a normal HD installation, but this time from RAM
5) If all goes well, Save-State :)

What do you think, guys? It's possible? :)

Maybe I should just try it myself :)

Hungry Horace

yeah - sounds right - make sure you post it for us all here!

no whdload slave huh?  must be a rubbish game... hehe

seriously though, id use a cracked copy to install from tho :S
