How do I rip files from my old Amiga disks?

Still got all my original games boxed and waiting to be played, of course the problem is that I can't use them while they sit on floppy disks.

So basically, what do I need to get them onto my PC so I can then transfer them onto my PSP?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well what you need is some special programs or something (I´m not realy sure)
Check this site... might give you some clues... http://www.amigaforever.com/kb/3-118.html

...but the easiest way is of course to simply search for ADF-files (Amiga Disk Files) on the net.
(Of course... anything personaly done can´t be "saved" by this way)

there's not much point in ADFing original disks, since nything with a copy protection simply wont work.

my favourite ADF site is down at the moment, but i'd recommend downloding the entire ADF TOSEC off bittorrent or E-Donkey, since this way you'll more than likely find every game you ever want!

unless of courseyou happen to have "Horace Takes A Trip" (PD Game) .... in which case, it needs ADFing!

Icant ADF my originals, cause when to get them from my mothers attic, only to find somone had stolen it all from the attic, via another attic (you could run through the whole block of houses through the attics), I was gutted, I lost SHUTTLE, that game was 1 of myfavorites and Willy Biemish.

Yowzers I have just tried to download the adf tosec file off Overnet and BitTorrent and it is 3.8 Gigs.  There are other ones around the 300-400 meg mark.  However nothing is happening and I fear it will never download.  Is there any recommended way of getting hold of this archive of games.  If anyone knows how I can get hold of Captive (captive.adf) listed as a compatible game on PSP I would really be grateful.  My first post, great site!

i'd really recommend waiting, and getting all 4.5  gigs worth.... (that how big mine was!) but you should be able to find them in packs labelled by letter... "A" "B-C" "D-E" etc etc which will be a bit smaller.... at least on overnet anyway. Bittorrent will be better for speed however. I only had a 512k connection when i downloaded them all, but it was worth the wait!

planetemu.net had the contents of the TOSEC up for download as individual games, but at the moment they are moving host i think, so downloads arent working. i'll see if i can dig out captive at some point (it's not on my PC)

Thank you, I will continue to try and download the TOSEC file.  For Captive FOL has shown me the way to the adf file and I currently have it running on the PSP and am currently trying to work out a control scheme that makes it playable.
