I reckon we should have a link to the Save-State FAQ on the front page, maybe have a button for it as well. It would still not get seen as much as we would like, but maybe we can do something like this "Save-States - Better than ADF's". Not that exact line, but something like that to make people understand what they are in one line. I feel this is a very important thing to do, as Im sure a lot of the members dont know about it unless they have searched the forums.
They might see it in the downloads section, but not realise what it is, I would think its game save files if I were a new member.
What are you looking at?

Two states from this version of Wolfchild :
Wolfchild (1992)(Core Design)[cr CSL][t +27 ATX]

Confirmed to work with 0.63BE. The first is on the first disk, just before the demo, the second one on the second disk, just before playing.

Enjoy!

Barts_706

Eh, site won't let me attach it, even though it's less than 5Mb packed...

Barts_706

...and here goes second one...

not much point in savestates from ADF loading imho. (they will still be slow to access when it comes to in-game access)

im sure FOL will sort out a "proper" save-state from the whdload version soon:

Well they do load a tad faster. I didn't know about  any other forms of save states and I thought I'd contribute.

Nevertheless, if you are going to come up with something speedier, I'll be glad to see that.

As I mentioned, in the other topic, this is the other way which has the whole game loaded in RAM, and  then started from RAM. We then savestate it, reload the state, then setup options, save the options for that state (once we are happy with it), then we have a nice setup state for optimum performance for current version.
