Changes / Features of next release
« on: August 31, 2006, 05:49:52 PM »

Hi, just some news on the WIP of the next release of PSPUAE. Below is the changes and added features.

Changes:

 - Based on e-uae 0.8.29 WIP3
 - Ditched filesys/harddrive support to gain speed as I still can't get it to work with WIP3
 - Removed support for serial ports to gain speed
 - Several optimizations to the e-uae code primarily removing stuff that doesn't make a lot of sense
   on the PSP
 - Added cpu speed option - thanks to FOL
 - Added profiling support (you cant see it as it requires a recompile)
 - Fixed memory issues - no more limits
 - Should run using kxploit and the eloader (So V1.50 Version will also work on any V2.x+ PSP using
   the GTA E-Loader / EMenu)
 - Fixed keyboard mappings
 - Switched middle and right mouse button
 - Fixed screenshot
 - only displays leds for 2 drives as only 2 are enabled (will not accept 4 drives as I have disabled the
   last 2 for performance reasons)
 - disabled debugging support (can be enabled again it doesnt really make a performance hit)
 - only possible to select valid memory configurations (up to 2 Mb chip, 1.5 Mb bogo and 8Mb fast)
 - when mapping keyboard keys to psp buttons the behaviour is to keep the key down until the psp
button is released. This works great for pinball fantasies
 - removed 2 drives from the disk menu
 - added msg box for when no kickstart rom is present and also for when changing kickstart roms
   while using PSPUAE
 - Saved Name States

Below are some screenshots of it in action, using the in built (fixed) screenshot feature. It also shows the memory is working over 2 Megs, ;). So watch this space, as we are testing it for any missed bugs at the moment.

Screens looking nice. Like Protracker aka Octamed  :P. Is the Sound OK to work with Octamed? I cant read any Soundfixes in the News.

Sound probs stem for cpu emulation issues, set to chipset option (which doesnt work with everything, causes slow down in some cases) and frameskip to 4 its, and very usable.

lol, everyone thanks me or horace. Ric is the 1 to thank.

Myself and horace run pspuae.com. I might play around with the source, and sometimes might find something Ric missed(option wise), but thats it.

As horace once put it, you aint going to see AGA, well not yet, the best you can get is an A1200 with full ECS Chipset.
