Dear Friends:

I am going to start on a new amos game. Where you roam among the oceans inside a supersub and fight
against the navies of the civilized world. What do you think?
Before I start coding..I will think it thru and then write it down on paper (all aspects of game design).
I've been thinking about it and had an idea...To make this game a cross of the 'battleship' board game and a computer simulation/strategy. I will start working on the game soon.
Cheers!!!

Awesome idea rednova!  Keep us posed on the progress.  It sounds like it'll be a great game.  How will this cross between battleship the board game and a simulation/strategy game work?

Greetings Sidewinder:

I love the amiga game 'ports of call', it is a great inspiration for simulation games. I would love to make new simulation games for amiga. OK now that you asked...let me share my idea about the game works.
You will see a map displayed of the ocean and divided into sectors (the sectors will be randomly created so every game will be different). The enemy ships will be scattered among the ocean and hidden from you. You can travel to anywhere in the map and if you stumble upon a ship you can fight it (in your turn). In the computer's turn (you ship will be hidden from them too) they will randomly pick a sector and drop explosives
to kill you. If they hit you...it will lower your hull integrity which will last for 5 attacks..then you get killed. (kinda like the star trek 'shields'). You will only have one movement/attack per turn.
I am thinking about naming this game 'supersub' but I am open to suggestions.
What do you think?  about this game idea?
