planet zybex

Hi all:

I just tested the planet zybex game that comes with amospro.
I loved it and would love to make a sequel.I noticed it uses
.abk files for the background screens. What is the right tool to
load and edit these screen files ? Any tips? Would it be better to code
the game from scratch...or just to edit the screens/levels ? Any
tips at all ?
