Hi Horace, I was using winuae last night and enabled the sound option under floppy drive: Amiga 500 WinUAE
built in.

I love the disk access sound and wondered if it could be added to PSPUAE?

would be quite handy to hear if the disk is being accessed, when the LED's were not displayed to.  ;)
Would be good for us beta testers to  ;)

What do you think? could it be added without affecting the pspuae speed? possibly with an option under menu to turn it off  :)

mmm.....thinking about it,  probably FOL who I should ask, it's his baby  :-\

I've found this mp3 off EAB, dont know if its any good - never owned an Amiga

although i used it for the eboot sound, i am not overly convinced by the winuae disk sound.

if i had access to a decent microphone (damn you brother of mine!) i would have recorded my a500 or something.

might be an idea to add, but i dunno... probably more effort than its worth. Afterall, much of the slowdown in PSPUAE occurs when you have multiple sound channels playing - i would have thought adding that on might increase it further. one for the dev's i think.

mmm....would be nice but maybe if it would slow things down, probably a bad idea.  :(

Also - if it only sounds when the floppy drive is active, would it slow the emu dramatically as disk access slows the emu big time anyway? like defender of the crown as an exampe.

Also -  if it only sounds when the floppy drive is active, would it sound using a Riss because it uses Ram rather than floopy drive?

FOL

Its not fully implemented in the source (that being WIP3), it was added to WIP4.

There would be no disk access sound with RISS, because there is no disk access (other than the installation)
