The below guide is intended to help anyone wishing to use the new FS-UAE based Amiga Online packs on PC, Mac (OSX) or Linux.

I hope that each section will be self-explanatory, taking you through the necessary steps required to get up and running and playing your favourite Amiga games online withy your friends!

Stage One: Downloading the tools. (one time only set-up)

For the purposes of this guide you will require;

- FS-UAE and the FS-UAE Launcher
- An Amiga Online Game Pack (minimum 'configurations only')

1- Download the latest development version of FS-UAE and it's launcher from;
http://fengestad.no/fs-uae/download-devel





2- Download an Amiga Online gamepack from http://amigaonline.ultimateamiga.co.uk

e.g.: http://www.ultimateamiga.com/HostedProjects/AmigaOnline/Amiga%20Online%20Pack%205%20%28Configurations%20Only%29.zip

Stage Two: Setting Up FS-UAE for Online Play. (one time only set-up)

1- Open FS-UAE Launcher



2- Use the Scan function (magnifying glass)
- Add (+) your Amiga ROMS folder
- Add (+) the Amiga Online Pack 5 folder
- Click "SCAN"
- When Completed click "Close"







3 Use the Options function (cog)
    - Select the sub-menu: Experimental Features
    - Select "net play GUI" as "on"






4- Quit and Reload the launcher

5 Use the Options function (cog)
- Select the sub-menu: Net Play Settings
- Select your IRC nick (no spaces)
- Select your net play tag (3 letters)

Stage Three: Join or Host an Online Game

1 - Select an Amiga Online game config from the configs list (orange folder icon)






2 - Open the Net Play Function (Blue speech bubble)
- This will present you with an IRC channel for organising games and meeting other players.





3 - Start or join a Game Channel by typing /join &GameName


/join &Lotus2

4 -  In that Channel, start a a new game on the service with with /startgame command (which requires an IP or divert address.)

For example;

/startgame amigaonline.no-ip.org
/startgame fengestad.no


Note that the fengestad.no address is a permanent super-server provided by FrodeSolheim, and the AmigaOnline is a temporary super-server provided by HungryHorace as select times.

5 - Agree Controls with your counterpart(s)!
- i.e. decide who will use the amiga mouse/joystick ports etc.

6 -  State if you are ready with commands  /ready or if not... /notready

7 - Click 'Start' as usual to being the game, once everyone is confirmed as ready to play!
