I was thinking to maybe have a little friendly competition.
What I was thinking is that we each design a little game prototype, nothing fancy, but a good start for a particular type of game. Maybe a few hundred lines at most.
We then each judge who has made the best prototype and then we each take that persons code and then we create a fully fledge game as a community. There is a name for that type of development, but I forget what it is. ::)
How does that sound to everybody?
Obviously the time constraints will be loose, since I presume most of us work, so don't worry about having the time. The protoype should only be a very basic start to a full game.

Friend:
Good idea !!! I would love to compete for the best game code !!!
Let's do it !!!

I am going to make a space rpg, but I will start with the flying in space part.
What are you making Rednova?
I have a feeling not many people are going to do this, so do you maybe want to make a game together??
-
Hi,
Sorry I'm not on here much these days, perhaps once every few weeks. Mainly as I am busy with other projects.
I will participate as long as it's the game that counts and not the graphics ;)

Friend:
I do not really feel like sharing the code...but if you want to, I can make the grafix for your game.
You can concentrate on coding, and I will make you beautiful grafix to go along with your game.
I can make nice 3d pics in lightwave. Hope you like this...

Sounds like a plan.

I am making a top-down 2D Space RPG. I know it is very ambitious, but thats the game I want to make, so I will make it. ;D
Rednova, could I have some basic building graphics that can be tiled easily.
E.g. http://www.savware.net/images/RPG_Tiles_05.png (http://www.savware.net/images/RPG_Tiles_05.png)
E.g. Fallout 1, Final Fantasy, Alien Breed.
I don't need anything major, just something to start with.
Thank you. :-*

dear friend:
My specialty is 3d still pictures. I never made gfx like top-down tiles like you want now. However, I will give it my best shot and try to create something nice. Where/how do I upload my grafix ?
Cheers !!!

You could upload them here. Attach it to your post.
3D is fine, but I would need 2D snapshots of them to use in Amos. Understand?
like this:

BTW, Thank you :)

Ok,
this is the best I can do, skate.

Hi:
I just created a new picture !!!
rednova
-
Thanks, I think. :)
-
Huh?
I thought I replied after Rednova's post on the 13th. Did someone delete it or am I dreaming about posting messages?
Count me in, I do have an idea. Theres no need to worry about graphics for my game Rednova, but thanks for the kind offer.

Skate:
I just finished working on a new picture, is a greek-style temple. Enjoy !!!

Skate:
Are these graphics to your pleasing ?
rednova
-
They look good, but I can't use the temple. I need something I can tile, even if it is 3D tiles. I do honestly appreciate the effort though. Thank you. :)
Do you want an example of what I mean?
-
Ok,
I removed the temple, and rendered the ground only. Is this good enough?
Cheers!!!

Here is an example of one the aspects of the game I am trying to make in Amos. Only works in Windows. Was coded in Dark Basic.
Can't remember what the controls are exactly, maybe the cursors or WASD, something like that. Spacebar does something too if I remember right and one of the letter keys does something as well. I will edit this post tommorrow once I have figured out the exact controls.
Let me know what you think, I always love praise or criticism :D
-
Hi:
Your little program is really nice. I like it !!!

Thank you. I lost the source code when my computer died. I would have liked to continue with it, even if it was badly coded. That doesn't sound right, coded badly maybe? Anyway, it was rubbish coding. :P

"coded badly" and "badly coded" are perfectly ok. Don't you hate it when you write/type a word and for some strange reason it seems mispelt, even when it's spelt correctly.
