Title: The noob is coming :)
Post by: rEdrUm on 18 Jan, 2008, 03:01 PM
Hi everybody,

My name is Jérémie, I'm 31 and live in France. I am and have always been a PC user.

I bought my self a few amigas during last year, as I started an old computers collection.
I'm just trying to heal my teenager frustations, because I couldn't afford an Amiga during these old days :)

And now, a bit tired of just playing games with that fantastic machine, I want to do more with it.
That's why I'd want to start programming with Amos which seems easy enough for me :)

I will certainly ask a LOT of questions here, I hope I won't too much of a pain !  ;D

Welcome!

Feel free to ask lots of questions!  This website has been a bit quiet lately anyway.

dear friend Jeremie:

Welcome to this amos club. Did you know the man who created amos was french? His name is Francois
Lionet, from France. You did the right thing to come to amos. Amospro is very easy to learn, including how to program and how to make new games for amiga. Check my two games which I made using amospro.
www.feryogi.com/amos.html
If you check aminet...you can download (for free) lots of amos programs, to help you learn how to code/do something in amos.Ask questions here...try to code...check the free amos programs from aminet.
There is a great book you should look for (ebay) and is called amiga gamemakers manual -with amos- by Stephen Hill. Get it!!! is great. It teaches you how to code your own games, all kinds (rpg, simulation, arcade, adventure, etc.)using amos. Amos is very easy to learn...don't quit and keep learning.
When you gain some experience in amos...then you can make your own amiga games.
Cheers!!!

rEdrUm,

It's great to have someone new here that wants to make software with AMOS. You can make pretty much anything you want with it once you have the knowledge and the skill to use AMOS properly :)
