Just wondering if there are any compatible joysticks that are from other systems and may be more readily available new. I think I saw something about the sega megadrive controller or similar being compaitble. From a video review I watched. Is this the case?
Any others? Also same deal with mouse. are Amiga mouses easy enough to find or available elsewhere from another system?
Just picked up the A500 yesterday. The right mouse button is no good and the joystick I got with it is an analogue flight sim type that is annoying to use for arcady type games.

Yep a MegaDrive controller will work just fine, ;).

megadrive/ genesis pad on the amiga is pretty good for a few games... the B and C buttons act as fire button 1 and fire button 2 for some games :) - handy for turrican 2!

afaik, only the cd32 will pick up the C button. something to do with how its wired. read it on EAB somewhere i think!

odd, my megadrive pad works fine, a, b and c.

nah mate, I've played turrican 2 FAR too many times with B and C working FIIINNE on my A1200, I think it works with all amigas.
AFAIK there's only two mappable buttons for the amiga joysticks... emulators usually have FIRE 1 and FIRE 0 (or 2), .. thats where that idea came from :)
Yep, in a Megadrive A B and C work fine, but amigas = A and B unfortunately..... ah yeah, and if you see a joystick with a million buttons, more than likely theyre all reffering to the normal fire button (ie B on a megadrive pad)
Games that supports the other button though doesnt come to that much, I know for a fact that (obviously) turrican 2 works with this button, and possibly Flashback... hmn,... theres more! a fighting game I recall.... possibly mortal kombat?

Indeed, but in CDTV and CD32 games, all buttons are mapped.

ok, maybe it's B and C that work, but not all three as standard.

Amiga hardware supports 3 buttons.
when it's asked what actually uses 3 buttons....
f I remember well, Hired guns did (been a while though so need confirmation by someone else).
There was a description of the wires to swap on the megadrive joypad in one of the manual of the game.
so what program do you use all three on then FOL? CD32 stuff? i could imagine that might work, but that one of the buttons wouldnt be the standard amiga "third button"

hmn, only hired guns then?
> update: add fire button 3 to the mappable features on PSPUAE :P <

No point anyway, CD32 pad, red, gree, blue. I give you fire, 1, 2, 3.

completely pointless without the other CD32 buttons yes - but MD pads are much easier to find.
the C= cd32 pad is rubbish anyway
